CHEF MAURICIO LEAL Chef Mauricio Leal began his career in the kitchens of Café des Artistes in Puerto Vallarta, doing his professional internship before being able to enter the prestigious Gregoire Ferrandi school in Paris. After his studies in Paris, he had a stay in one of the most traditional restaurants of French cuisine, La Closerie de Lillas, where he learned the importance of the classical bases of cooking.

Upon her return to Puerto Vallarta she joined the Banquet brigade of the Four Seasons Hotel in Punta Mita, where she developed her passion for making events where every detail is taken care of. Soon after, the opportunity arose to partner in his company Personal Chef, a company dedicated to banquets. In December 2017, he decided to fulfill a dream and opened ICÚ, where he seeks to cook what he loves, making Mexican cuisine in his own way.

ICU was named best new restaurant in Mexico by Food and Travel Magazine in 2019, and has been part of the Mexico Gastronomic guide, the 250 Restaurants of Mexico for the last 4 years, from 2020 to 2024.
